Outside of Dublin, Katie was one of three students considered by Governor Newsom for the position of 2022-23 Student Member on the California State Board of Education. Katie is also an active member of the Dublin community, serving as Co-Chair of the youth-led Dublin Mayor’s Council, President of the DHS Speech and Debate team, President of the DHS California Scholarship Federation, playing for the DHS Girls Lacrosse team, and partaking in DHS Leadership. To demonstrate this, she has initiated semesterly Student Forums and is founding a districtwide Student Advisory Council. ![]() Katie strongly believes in amplifying student voices in an era of technology-infused learning and turbulent school circumstances. Born and raised in Dublin, she has spent all 13 years of her education at Green Elementary, Fallon Middle School, and Dublin High. Since then, she has been re-elected in 20 to serve her 2nd and 3rd terms. She was first elected to represent 13,000 DUSD students as the Student Board Member as a sophomore in 2020. Her goals are to help the district continue to improve on equity and inclusion in the classroom, improve teacher engagement and retention, and ensure its facilities are state-of-the-art and safe for all students.Ībout Trustee Cheng: Katie is a Senior from Dublin High School’s Class of 2023. Kristin is dedicated to making decisions that benefit all students in Dublin. She has served on the 20 Boundary Committee and the 2020 Graduate Requirements Committee. Kristin has been a dedicated volunteer in our Dublin schools serving as chair of the Dublin Elementary school site council, coach of the Dublin Elementary school Math Olympiad team, co-chair of the annual Jaws-a-Thon fundraiser, and uniform chair of the Wells middle school band executive board. Kristin has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Georgia Tech and has worked at Clorox in various science and engineering roles since 2001. She has two children who have been attending Dublin schools since 2013. She and her family have lived in Dublin since 2005. Cherrier was elected on a platform of transparency, fiscal prudence and a passion to complete the long-awaited Emerald High School.Ībout Trustee Speck: Kristin Speck was appointed in 2022 to represent Area 2, after running unopposed for the seat. Other hobbies include skiing and backpacking. He spends some free time working on cars and enjoys when people bring him a tough diagnostic problem. Earlier employment includes construction equipment operator, long-haul truck owner/operator, and commercial small plane pilot. ![]() Cherrier is familiar with complex issues and financial management of projects at all levels. With a degree in finance and a degree in engineering, as a Civil Engineer specializing in transportation, Mr. Cherrier and his wife Kathy have raised their daughter through 11 years in the DUSD system. ![]() The Cherrier family has called Dublin home for 25 years. Previously, he served on the John Green Elementary School Site Council the DUSD Citizen Bond Oversight Committee, including two years as Chair and the District Optimization Committee.
